Monday: PING PONG. We finally went into our scary basement and we found out we have a lot of random crap in there. We have an organ, 2 pianos a guitar, a ping pong table, a couch, lots of the military meal packets that the elders gladly took off our hands lol, a fat good Samaritan food pantry sign, neither one of us play any instruments but we put the ping pong table to good use lol! That night we had some good lessons with some people we found through a member so that was sick(:
Tuesday: HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Love ya'll to kolob and back !! On Tuesday we went and heart attacked some single women's houses in our ward and visited a few of them! We had a AMAZING lesson with our friend Chad!! They talked about temples last Sunday and after he texted us and was like I want to know more about temples and when I can go so we taught plan of salvation and it was amazing!! He's so excited to get baptized it's sooo cool!!
Wednesday: EXCHANGES! I got to go on an exchange with Sister Howell who I actually came out on my Mish with and it was so fun! We went to the poly apt complex ( an apartment complex that has tons of Polynesians) we were able to find 6 families in like 30 minutes! I srsly had to pull out my notes on my phone to get all their names fast enough we started teaching 2 of the families about the restoration then and there and then this lady we shall call "Karen" pulls up like she's in a literal fast and furious movie and starts cussing us out... she said that she was the landlord and we needed to leave and we couldn't solicit and the girl we were teaching clapped back and started getting mad at her and said that the landlord was actually on their property and needed to leave. it was actually so cool because we tied it into opposition and trials lol we found them and are meeting with them again this week... take that Karen! LOL
Thursday: BEST LESSON EVER! We found a part member family!! We started teaching the dad and his little daughter and they are just the cutest ever! The dad says he knows the church is true, has been meeting with missionaries for years but he can't seem to quit smoking. We talked about it and had a member give him a blessing. After the blessing I had an idea come to mind of how he could quit smoking. I felt impressed to tell him that if he smokes 1 less cigarette each day and then switches to the nicotine patches then just follows the directions on the back he would be able to quit smoking. It was one of the most specific promptings I've ever gotten, I definitely couldn't have had that thought myself since I don't even really know what a nicotine patch is lol. God is good!
Friday: tbh I don't really remember what we did on Friday lol! We did a lot of going on goose chases to find people's right addresses which needed to be done haha.
Saturday: MET THE KAREN OF ALL KAREN'S pt 2! So we go back to the apt complex for our return apt right! 2 of our friends didn't answer but one did so we were about to walk in there house and Karen pulls up AGAIN!! I swear this girl has cameras or something! She was extra unkind that day... I had grabbed my pros card that morning just in case she came, so when she tried to tell us we were soliciting we kindly ( idk how i held my tongue but there were for sure angels there to shut me up lol) we explained that we weren't soliciting and we had cards saying we could be here. She didn't like that too much, she threatened to call the cops, part of me wanted to be like go ahead we could put ya in for verbal assault but I held it in, we just ended up kinda ignoring her and going into our friends house we had a BOMB lesson with her though and we went back tonight and it was amazing!! On a different note though I've been thinking a lot about "Karen" and how she was probably just having a hard week. You never really know what people are going through so try to be kind anyway
Sunday: DENIS & JOHNSON GOT BAPTIZED ( 2 soldiers on post) !!! Ahhh I love them so much!! The spirit was so strong during their baptism! The baptisms on post are so cool because there's tons of non members there who get to watch their friends be baptized, they feel the spirit super strong! Afterwards I got to teach the restoration to the new people who came and again the spirit was so strong! One of the people in my class went from not wanting to be there to genuinely interested! One thing I've learned on my Mish is that there are so many questions that people from other churches have and there pastors will be like just have faith... but the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints actually has the answers! When they come to class and they learn about the gospel they have so many things click for them and it's so cool to watch!
Challenge: prayerfully choose a christlike attribute that God wants you to develop this week, strive your best to develop that attribute by utilizing the atonement when you fall short(:
