Monday: PDAYYYY! We got to go on post to get groceries, the grocery store on post is wayyy cheap because the soldiers don't have to pay taxes on their groceries!! So they was a big win! We had a really good lesson with our friend who's on date! We talked a lot about baptism and the bom! He actually came to church this Sunday and they talked a lot about temples , he texted us after saying he wanted to know more about temples and how/ when he could go!!! he's been listening to the bom on the app and said he really loves it, feels amazing when he reads it!!!
Tuesday: MIRACLES! God led us to 6 people who we were able to find and teach!!!! It was insane! In weekly planning we set our goal to 7 and we didn't quite know if we would hit it but we made sure that we were working hard and asking God where we needed to be! We ended up getting a bomb media referral that we were able to visit, set a return apt with & find a few families that were interested! God is a God of miracles! I've started to realize that God's hand is never not in our lives. If we switch our focus to see his hand in our lives then we will be able to recognize the miracles that are taking place.
Wednesday: MLC REVIEW! Mlc review was soooo fun to plan! Me and sister tayco miraculously planned it in 30 min the night before because we had 0 time during the day haha. The spirit was so strong though! We talked about how to find joy in missionary work, one of the ways me and sister tayco find joy each day is by asking each other what we are grateful for each night! It's super small but it's helped me to be able to refocus on the positive and God's hand in my life!
Thursday: PLANNING SAID ZONE CONFERENCE. Ooo yall know my attention span is short so planing zone conference was a struggle haha! We had lots of laughs, it was actually so fun to plan it and see all the work that goes into it! It made me so grateful for things like zone conference that we sometimes take for granted as missionaries.
Friday: MINI MISH & ZONE CONFERENCE! Zone conference was sooooo good! I love our mission president so much! We talked a lot about how to work with members and why it's important, we got so much revelation during it! It was also so fun to see all the missionaries that I hadn't seen in forever! After zone conference we went on a mini mission with one of our members! Basically we had a member come out with us for a few hours and go tracting, do visits, see where they feel like we need to be or any of their friends who could use a visit. It was so cool because our member said she felt like we needed to go to a part member family we went on area book and went to the first one we found. We ended up inviting 2 people in their family to be baptized, and are going back this week!
Saturday: BOMB MPL! We had tracked into someone the elders had actually helped move into their house she is so elect, is the sweetest ever! We had a lesson with a member and her and her little boy who's the same age as my little brother which was so tender. The member and her really hit it off! It's always cool to watch people at lessons start to have their heart softened to our message! As we were saying the first vision we had everyone close there eyes and once she opened them you could see the peace and joy she felt, the spirit was so powerful!
Sunday: WARD & BRANCH CONFERENCE! It was soooo good! In the family ward we talked a lot about the temple and how it's so important to go! Someone said it's always a good time to go to the temple! As a missionary we don't get to go to the temple too often because we are so busy, it's super far. But you best bet when I get home I'm going as much as possible! Someone related the temple and doing the "small things" to an instruction manual, I absolutely loved that analogy! On post we talked about what it means to take Christ's name upon ourselves. Lately I've been thinking about how lucky I am do be able to where Christ's name on my tag everyday. But I also will have his name always written on my heart! I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY! I miss my family and friends so much but ya know sometimes I don't want to go home. I want to stay a missionary forever! I'm starting to realize that I am/ will be a missionary forever. A member called us last night and he said that "every member is/should be a missionary it's part of the covenant that you made at baptism. I see so many missionaries that let their fire to share the gospel burn out when they get home, don't let your fire go out" I feel like I hear that same thing over and over again but this time it really hit close to home, I realized that I never want to stop being a missionary and I don't have to!
I guess that leads straight into the challenge for this week!
Challenge: Pray for opportunities to share the gospel and act! There are to key parts for this invite. 1) prayer 2) action.
You can pray and pray for opportunities to share but if you never take initiative or actions to share the gospel God's not going to give you those opportunities. Sharing the gospel can seem scary/ daunting but it's really not it's actually super simple. As we pray and act on promptings we will be able to experience the pure joy that comes from sharing the gospel!
I've shared a lot of this talk before but here's another banger from it:
"I am not certain just what our experience will be on Judgment Day, but I will be very surprised if at some point in that conversation, God does not ask us exactly what Christ asked Peter: “Did you love me?” I think He will want to know if in our very mortal, very inadequate, and sometimes childish grasp of things, did we at least understand one commandment, the first and greatest commandment of them all—“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind.” And if at such a moment we can stammer out, “Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee,” then He may remind us that the crowning characteristic of love is always loyalty. “If ye love me, keep my commandments,” Jesus said. So we have neighbors to bless, children to protect, the poor to lift up, and the truth to defend. We have wrongs to make right, truths to share, and good to do. In short, we have a life of devoted discipleship to give in demonstrating our love of the Lord. We can’t quit and we can’t go back. After an encounter with the living Son of the living God, nothing is ever again to be as it was before. The Crucifixion, Atonement, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ mark the beginning of a Christian life, not the end of it. It was this truth, this reality, that allowed a handful of Galilean fishermen-turned-again-Apostles without “a single synagogue or sword” to leave those nets a second time and go on to shape the history of the world in which we now live." - the first great commandment by Elder Holland
