HOWDY YALLL! This week was kinda crazy! We had some high highs and low lows this week lol but that's okay because according to Lehi "it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things" - 2 Nephi 2:11
Side note if you haven't tried the strawberry kiwi electrolit your missin out ...
MONDAY: PDAYYYY/ ROAD TRIP
We did some fun pday things and started the fat trek down to mlc in Bentonville. We got to have a sleepover with the sisters in Springfield and that was way fun! I'm convinced that sleepovers as a missionary are supreme. Believe it or not I've never lived in a quad though, probs because God knows that I never shut up and so I would struggle getting to bed on time haha! One day lol🤞
TUESDAY: MLC IN BENTONVILLE!
MLC was so good! I always get a ton of revelation in those meetings! We talked a lot about teaching to needs, the difference between sacrifice and consecration! Someone said something so inspired : " consecration is being a missionary from 6:30 am- 6:30 am - 6:30 am for the rest of your life" 🔥
WEDNESDAY: MLC REVIEW! We got to get together with all the missionaries in our zone, it was way fun! There's a special spirit that comes when missionaries meet together to talk about how we can improve. It always gets me so excited to get out and do the work!
THURSDAY: OPPOSITION 🫠 tbh Thursday was tuff... we got bashed a few times. Some of them were kind bashing though so that's good! We got yelled at by a Karen so that was probs my pit of Thursday. My peach was a guy gave us Gatorade when we were out tracting so that was way tender of him! Honestly the hardest days are the days I feel the closest to the savior. Whenever we face lots of rejection I think of this quote from the talk missionary work and the atonement by Elder Holland
"I am convinced that missionary work is not easy because salvation is not a cheap experience. Salvation never was easy. We are The Church of Jesus Christ, this is the truth, and He is our Great Eternal Head. How could we believe it would be easy for us when it was never, ever easy for Him? It seems to me that missionaries and mission leaders have to spend at least a few moments in Gethsemane. Missionaries and mission leaders have to take at least a step or two toward the summit of Calvary." Elder Holland is a G 🐐🔥
FRIDAY: WALMART FINDING💙💛🛒
We decided to go public contacting in the Walmart parking lot, it was way nice because even if ppl weren't interested we would always offer to put away their cart, most of the time they would let us share a scripture after that or tell us we made their day so that was way cool! We met this super cool family, were able to have a good convo with them! Someone even came up to us and asked us for a card!!
SATURDAY: ONE MORE DOOR! We had some bomb lessons, then decided to go tracting for a bit! We decided that we needed to keep knocking until we had met the person that God needed us to meet. We had lots of good convos but still not the one we were there for. We had a few minutes before we needed to leave for a meeting, we felt like we just needed to knock 1 more door. Long story short God led us to this super amazing family who's been going through a hard time. We were able to testify of the peace and hope that our message brings and are coming back to teach them more this week😆
SUNDAY: I LOVE TESTIMONY MEETINGS 🙌 I love hearing testimonies. My favorite ones are always the simple ones, the kids always say the most profound things it's amazing! I love testimony mtgs on post because the soldiers go through a lot, are able to tie their trials back to a gospel principle! I feel like since ive been serving on post I've been able to come to realize why we go through trials. The soldiers that are going through basic are getting yelled at all day, going through a lot. But it humbles them, opens them up. It enables them to turn to the only true source for strength. They are willing to be all in to the gospel because they see and feel the contrast.
🔥Spiritual sauce:
That leads me to my spiritual thought. There was a Drill Sargent on post yesterday who was awesome. You could tell that he truly loved the kids that he was over. He wanted them to succeed, and was willing to put them in difficult/ uncomfortable situations for them to be able to do so. A lot of soldiers will complain about things their Drill Sargent makes them do but in the end they are able to grow and be more successful because their drill Sargent loved them too much to leave them the way they were. Watching this Drill Sargent made me realize that that's how God feels about us. He loves us too much to leave us the way we are. He sees our potential, knows that if we can just keep going with the help of his son Jesus Christ we'll be able to make it back to our father again, better than we were before.
D&C 122:7-9
"And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good. The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he? Therefore, hold on thy way, and the priesthood shall remain with thee; for their bounds are set, they cannot pass. Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less; therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever."
Love you all!💟🥰 make it a good week!✌️🫰
