HOWDY YALLL! This was one of the craziest weeks on my mission so far! We saw a TON of miracles! God is too good, he is 100% aware of his missionaries (:
MONDAY: PDAYYYY! We had a super chill pday because Sister Worthington started to get sick. We got lots done though! We decided to go knock after our dinner apt, then it started to get dark and people thought we were super sus knocking on their door when it was dark. We saw this guy getting his mail and so we skirted on over, we were able to have a super good convo with him!🥳
TUESDAY: TALK TO EVERYONE! We decided to go knock this apt complex, there was this girl outside. We were able to have a super awesome conversation with her though, are gonna start teaching her! Then we met the cutest family ever! We almost didn't knock on their door cause we were running late for a meeting but we did it anyway, I'm so glad we did! We talked to her about the plan of salvation, how family's can be together forever. You could see how happy it made her, it was so tender🥹
WEDNESDAY: MIRACLES! So last week we met this super awesome girl, we had our return apt with her on Wednesday. It was the best lesson I've ever been able to be in! She told us how she never answers the door for missionaries, usually just says no but something told her she needed to listen to us. Her son had been struggling with depression, stuff and she said that she felt like he needed to hear our message. Turns our her son had heard the convo we had with his mom, had been counting down the days till we could come back🥹 We talked about the plan of salvation, how we can find joy here on earth. They both were crying as we testified of christ and that they could be forgiven of their sins. The Son said that he had a good feeling, he felt happy. We were able to do a house blessing and they were so thankful. It was so sick! Just all the details that went perfectly so we could find them, they would be open... it was crazy!
THURSDAY: 1ST TIME IN AN AMBULANCE... hopefully the last!
Let me preface this by saying Sister Worthington is doing a lot better now so I don't freak ya'll out.
So Sister Worthington's been having the worst allergies, so we took her to the doctor because we were thinking it might have turned into a sinus infection):
We went to the doctor, they gave her a crap ton of drugs for a sinus infection, we went back to the house for lunch. Within a few hrs after taking the medication she started to have a bad reaction to it. She started loosing feeling in her face, hands, feet. I called our mission nurse, as soon as I did she started to look super not good. We went to the urgent care, the nurses slowly started to get more and more panicked. They called for an ambulance. I was able to convince them to let me ride with them cause we have to stay in sight and sound for our "religon". I now know that the ER is a joke, there's nothing emergency or urgent about it lol. We waited there for a good 3 hours before they could see us. Within that time she was able to get a blessing and was feeling a lot better.
Some miracles from that experience though:
- SISTER WORTHINGTON IS OKAY!
- I talk a LOT when im nervous, so I talked the ambulance drivers socks off haha. We were able to get on the topic of church, I was able to teach him some of the plan of salvation on the way to the hospital. I gave him a passalong card so we'll see if he reaches out to us haha it seemed like the wrong setting to try to get his contact info lol.
- we saw a girl that we had seen from the urgent care in the waiting room at the er. I got to have a good convo with her and was able to pray with her while they waited to be seen
- President and Sister Collins came, we got to chat with them for a few hrs and they were able to teach a few people when they were waiting in the waiting room for Sister Worthington!
FRIDAY: INTERVIEWS PT2! We pretty much already had interviews the day before because we were with our mission president and his wife for a few hours. But we got to have another one🥳 I love the Collins! Every time I talk to them I feel like I get so much revelation! The rest of the day we tried to take it easy while Sister Worthington recovers.
SATURDAY: LAYING LOW! We had to stay in for most of the day cause Sister Worthington still wasn't feeling too good. But it was actually super cool because one of our lessons asked if we could do it online, it worked out perfect so we could have a member hop on the lesson for a bit(:
SUNDAY: THE SABBATH! I made one of the soldiers cry in my class this week🥹 I asked him how he's felt as he's read the bom and come to church and he started crying, said that it's helped him get through basic and he described the peace it's brought him. He's going to get baptized in a couple Sundays🥳
🔥Spiritual thought:
I studied a lot about faith this week. I read the stories of the Children of Israel, Peter walking on water, and Moses parting the sea.
Something that stuck out to me was the fact that Moses had to stick out his hand before the water would part. Peter had to step out of the boat before he could take the first step. The Children of Israel had to get their feet wet before the water would part. We have to be willing to act before we can see miracles. Sometimes, you just have to start moving. Then I remembered that Peter started to sink only when he took his focus on Christ and started thinking about himself. It's near impossible to act in faith if we're focused on ourselves. As we keep our focus on Christ, we will be able to know what to do because we'll be following his example . I learned that acting in faith is easier when our focus is on Christ.
