The sacred music update🤌💯

HOWDY YALLL! This week was stupid hot... anywho ive decided that Nick day= the lds Taylor swift.

MONDAY: SPLUNKING! A member in rolla took us splunking for pday, it was the sickest thing ever! I was expecting a tiny cave but it was massive, so cool!

TUESDAY: We had some good lessons on Tuesday, so that was fun! We got a media refferal for a guy who lives at the apt complex that a crazy Karen lady lives at. We prayed that she wouldn't come when we were there and get mad at us, it worked haha she pulled in right as we were walking to our car!

WEDNESDAY: ACT EVEN WHEN IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! We were out visiting a member, I had the prompting we needed to go visit a less active family. I had visited them so many times but they would never answer. But this time they answered and we were able to share a message with them!

THURSDAY: SPIRITUALLY HIGH!
Thursday night we were walking into our apt and we hear someone yell for us. We look over and there was a guy at our neighbors house and he straight up asked us what church we go to. He had lots of questions, I was super stoked because God was too good to us on Thursday and we had lots of good interactions and this guy was the cherry on top. Anywho he asked me if I was drunk, to which I replied no I'm just happy, he asked me why😏 so I whipped out my bom, told him that about the word of wisdom haha! He thought it was super sick, we're gonna start teaching him😂 I'm definitely super uncoordinated, get super slap happy at night so makes sense that he though I was drunk💀

FRIDAY: MPL'S ARE WHERE ITS AT! We tried to get a member at all the lessons we had this week, we got stumped on one of our friends. We really tried to be prayerful of who we brought, a member came to mind. The member and our friend didn't seem like they would have much in common, our member was old enough to be our friends mom. We decided to bring her anyway, we had the most amazing lesson. They had a TON in common, actually struggle with the same mental illness. Our member was able to connect with her super well it was so cool! Then I biffed it so hard after we went to visit a member. I lowkey sprained my ankle but I will not be spending another second in the doctor's office so "natural healing" it is...

SATURDAY: It's stupid hot here... I do be melting 🔥🫠🔥 Any water that was in my body was no longer in my body by the end of Saturday... we are having a really bad heat wave here, I didn't think it would be a big deal cause I really like the heat but wowza the humidity will get ya. We found this guy though and we had a good lesson with him but we had to meet outside because of mission rules, I felt so bad because we were all sweating buckets lol! Also not a lot of people like talking to you when you knock on their door in a heat wave.

SUNDAY: SHABBAT⛪️
We had an awesome Sabbath, I had an awesome restoration class on post so that was really nice! We had a lesson fall through and took our members who we had with us out finding. We met this cool guy named Raz and he was a hoot! Here's some of our interaction with Raz...( for backround - Raz was telling us about how he had a "Mormon roommate who threw up pics of Jesus everywhere, even in the bathroom"). Raz- "you gonna want a picture of Jesus while you're sitting on the toilet praying like God please help me with my constipation"
Brother Stencil- " hey his bowels are filled with mercy"
Sister Worthington- * flips to Alma 7:11-13. He was super sick though, actually knows our recent convert that moved to Branson. Him and his friend were telling us how much he has changed for the better as he's come to church and been baptized! It made my heart so happy!

Find when you teach teach when you find🚑🚨🤷‍♀️

HOWDY YALLL! This was one of the craziest weeks on my mission so far! We saw a TON of miracles! God is too good, he is 100% aware of his missionaries (:

MONDAY: PDAYYYY! We had a super chill pday because Sister Worthington started to get sick. We got lots done though! We decided to go knock after our dinner apt, then it started to get dark and people thought we were super sus knocking on their door when it was dark. We saw this guy getting his mail and so we skirted on over, we were able to have a super good convo with him!🥳

TUESDAY: TALK TO EVERYONE! We decided to go knock this apt complex, there was this girl outside. We were able to have a super awesome conversation with her though, are gonna start teaching her! Then we met the cutest family ever! We almost didn't knock on their door cause we were running late for a meeting but we did it anyway, I'm so glad we did! We talked to her about the plan of salvation, how family's can be together forever. You could see how happy it made her, it was so tender🥹

WEDNESDAY: MIRACLES! So last week we met this super awesome girl, we had our return apt with her on Wednesday. It was the best lesson I've ever been able to be in! She told us how she never answers the door for missionaries, usually just says no but something told her she needed to listen to us. Her son had been struggling with depression, stuff and she said that she felt like he needed to hear our message. Turns our her son had heard the convo we had with his mom, had been counting down the days till we could come back🥹 We talked about the plan of salvation, how we can find joy here on earth. They both were crying as we testified of christ and that they could be forgiven of their sins. The Son said that he had a good feeling, he felt happy. We were able to do a house blessing and they were so thankful. It was so sick! Just all the details that went perfectly so we could find them, they would be open... it was crazy!

THURSDAY: 1ST TIME IN AN AMBULANCE... hopefully the last!
Let me preface this by saying Sister Worthington is doing a lot better now so I don't freak ya'll out.
So Sister Worthington's been having the worst allergies, so we took her to the doctor because we were thinking it might have turned into a sinus infection):
We went to the doctor, they gave her a crap ton of drugs for a sinus infection, we went back to the house for lunch. Within a few hrs after taking the medication she started to have a bad reaction to it. She started loosing feeling in her face, hands, feet. I called our mission nurse, as soon as I did she started to look super not good. We went to the urgent care, the nurses slowly started to get more and more panicked. They called for an ambulance. I was able to convince them to let me ride with them cause we have to stay in sight and sound for our "religon". I now know that the ER is a joke, there's nothing emergency or urgent about it lol. We waited there for a good 3 hours before they could see us. Within that time she was able to get a blessing and was feeling a lot better.

Some miracles from that experience though:
- SISTER WORTHINGTON IS OKAY!
- I talk a LOT when im nervous, so I talked the ambulance drivers socks off haha. We were able to get on the topic of church, I was able to teach him some of the plan of salvation on the way to the hospital. I gave him a passalong card so we'll see if he reaches out to us haha it seemed like the wrong setting to try to get his contact info lol.
- we saw a girl that we had seen from the urgent care in the waiting room at the er. I got to have a good convo with her and was able to pray with her while they waited to be seen
- President and Sister Collins came, we got to chat with them for a few hrs and they were able to teach a few people when they were waiting in the waiting room for Sister Worthington!

FRIDAY: INTERVIEWS PT2! We pretty much already had interviews the day before because we were with our mission president and his wife for a few hours. But we got to have another one🥳 I love the Collins! Every time I talk to them I feel like I get so much revelation! The rest of the day we tried to take it easy while Sister Worthington recovers.

SATURDAY: LAYING LOW! We had to stay in for most of the day cause Sister Worthington still wasn't feeling too good. But it was actually super cool because one of our lessons asked if we could do it online, it worked out perfect so we could have a member hop on the lesson for a bit(:

SUNDAY: THE SABBATH! I made one of the soldiers cry in my class this week🥹 I asked him how he's felt as he's read the bom and come to church and he started crying, said that it's helped him get through basic and he described the peace it's brought him. He's going to get baptized in a couple Sundays🥳

🔥Spiritual thought:
I studied a lot about faith this week. I read the stories of the Children of Israel, Peter walking on water, and Moses parting the sea.
Something that stuck out to me was the fact that Moses had to stick out his hand before the water would part. Peter had to step out of the boat before he could take the first step. The Children of Israel had to get their feet wet before the water would part. We have to be willing to act before we can see miracles. Sometimes, you just have to start moving. Then I remembered that Peter started to sink only when he took his focus on Christ and started thinking about himself. It's near impossible to act in faith if we're focused on ourselves. As we keep our focus on Christ, we will be able to know what to do because we'll be following his example . I learned that acting in faith is easier when our focus is on Christ.

gatorade < electrolit 🔥

 https://photos.app.goo.gl/V1gka56kjUTcATXt8

HOWDY YALLL! This week was kinda crazy! We had some high highs and low lows this week lol but that's okay because according to Lehi "it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things" - 2 Nephi 2:11

Side note if you haven't tried the strawberry kiwi electrolit your missin out ...

MONDAY: PDAYYYY/ ROAD TRIP
We did some fun pday things and started the fat trek down to mlc in Bentonville. We got to have a sleepover with the sisters in Springfield and that was way fun! I'm convinced that sleepovers as a missionary are supreme. Believe it or not I've never lived in a quad though, probs because God knows that I never shut up and so I would struggle getting to bed on time haha! One day lol🤞

TUESDAY: MLC IN BENTONVILLE!
MLC was so good! I always get a ton of revelation in those meetings! We talked a lot about teaching to needs, the difference between sacrifice and consecration! Someone said something so inspired : " consecration is being a missionary from 6:30 am- 6:30 am - 6:30 am for the rest of your life" 🔥

WEDNESDAY: MLC REVIEW! We got to get together with all the missionaries in our zone, it was way fun! There's a special spirit that comes when missionaries meet together to talk about how we can improve. It always gets me so excited to get out and do the work!

THURSDAY: OPPOSITION 🫠 tbh Thursday was tuff... we got bashed a few times. Some of them were kind bashing though so that's good! We got yelled at by a Karen so that was probs my pit of Thursday. My peach was a guy gave us Gatorade when we were out tracting so that was way tender of him! Honestly the hardest days are the days I feel the closest to the savior. Whenever we face lots of rejection I think of this quote from the talk missionary work and the atonement by Elder Holland
"I am convinced that missionary work is not easy because salvation is not a cheap experience. Salvation never was easy. We are The Church of Jesus Christ, this is the truth, and He is our Great Eternal Head. How could we believe it would be easy for us when it was never, ever easy for Him? It seems to me that missionaries and mission leaders have to spend at least a few moments in Gethsemane. Missionaries and mission leaders have to take at least a step or two toward the summit of Calvary." Elder Holland is a G 🐐🔥

FRIDAY: WALMART FINDING💙💛🛒
We decided to go public contacting in the Walmart parking lot, it was way nice because even if ppl weren't interested we would always offer to put away their cart, most of the time they would let us share a scripture after that or tell us we made their day so that was way cool! We met this super cool family, were able to have a good convo with them! Someone even came up to us and asked us for a card!!

SATURDAY: ONE MORE DOOR! We had some bomb lessons, then decided to go tracting for a bit! We decided that we needed to keep knocking until we had met the person that God needed us to meet. We had lots of good convos but still not the one we were there for. We had a few minutes before we needed to leave for a meeting, we felt like we just needed to knock 1 more door. Long story short God led us to this super amazing family who's been going through a hard time. We were able to testify of the peace and hope that our message brings and are coming back to teach them more this week😆

SUNDAY: I LOVE TESTIMONY MEETINGS 🙌 I love hearing testimonies. My favorite ones are always the simple ones, the kids always say the most profound things it's amazing! I love testimony mtgs on post because the soldiers go through a lot, are able to tie their trials back to a gospel principle! I feel like since ive been serving on post I've been able to come to realize why we go through trials. The soldiers that are going through basic are getting yelled at all day, going through a lot. But it humbles them, opens them up. It enables them to turn to the only true source for strength. They are willing to be all in to the gospel because they see and feel the contrast.

🔥Spiritual sauce:
That leads me to my spiritual thought. There was a Drill Sargent on post yesterday who was awesome. You could tell that he truly loved the kids that he was over. He wanted them to succeed, and was willing to put them in difficult/ uncomfortable situations for them to be able to do so. A lot of soldiers will complain about things their Drill Sargent makes them do but in the end they are able to grow and be more successful because their drill Sargent loved them too much to leave them the way they were. Watching this Drill Sargent made me realize that that's how God feels about us. He loves us too much to leave us the way we are. He sees our potential, knows that if we can just keep going with the help of his son Jesus Christ we'll be able to make it back to our father again, better than we were before.
D&C 122:7-9
"And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good. The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he? Therefore, hold on thy way, and the priesthood shall remain with thee; for their bounds are set, they cannot pass. Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less; therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever."

Love you all!💟🥰 make it a good week!✌️🫰
