HOWDY YALLL! This week was crazy but also so good! We got dumped on this week, honestly it was 12/10! The rain makes the heat a lil more bearable lol!
MONDAY: PDAYYYY! We printed off a crap ton of flyers for our activity this Saturday and handed a ton out!
TUESDAY: TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR 🌊 on Tuesday we decided to go out tracting, it POURED! people thought we were crazy for knocking on there doors with the storm but we had a few good convos! I'm a firm believer that the most effective time to go tracting or visit less actives is when it's pouring outside. Because 1) it shows how committed you are 2) if they don't let you in then they're being rude and will have to tell God at judgment day that they let his servants sit out in the pouring rain
3) it softens there hearts like nothing else
WEDNESDAY: STOP SMOKING WORKSHOPS ARE TOO FUN! We taught a stop smoking workshop to our friend Tony, it was so awesome! He wants to get baptized so bad, it has been so cool to watch him change! Everyone please pray for Tony!
THURSDAY: FINDING GRIND((:
We had 1 hour in a weird time of day to go finding before we had to start driving for Sister Worthington's t5 t6 t7 training in Bentonville. We felt like we needed to go tracting, we were able to have so many good convos just in that 1 hour. It was crazy, it felt like God slowed down time so we could teach all the people we met, still get to where we needed to be on time!
FRIDAY: BACK IN THE YSA! I got to be in a trio in Roger's ysa for a day and it was such a party! Honestly it was kinda fun being in a trio haha we had too much fun tracting lol! Going from the boonies to the city was so weird though! There were so many people to talk to and so many apt complexes haha!
SATURDAY: MEDIA REFERALS ARE WHERE ITS AT! We got the most elect media referal ever! For those who don't know, the church changed their advertisement to filter out the people who are actually interested v.s. sign up not knowing missionaries will be knocking on their door. Since they changed it the referals we've gotten have been so solid! We knocked on this girls door, she was so stoked to see us! She was just like I want to know what church to join, how I can grow a relationship with christ... It caught me soo off guard! We taught her the restoration, she was super excited about Joseph Smith! We invited her to be baptized and she said yes((:
We had our activity on Saturday that we had invited close to 200 people to plus members who invited there friends and no one showed but the members)): it actually ended up being soo amazing and exactly what our ward needed! Towards the end a sister in the ward got up and bore her testimony about how the lord loves effort, I've been thinking about it the rest of this week. I feel like so many times on my mission I beat myself up for not having a certain number of people in our teaching pool, people not progressing... when really all that God asks is OUR best effort. I learned this week that it really isn't about me, and as long as I'm doing my best to be an effective missionary God will allow miracles to happen. Sometimes those miracles can go unnoticed though or won't be seen until after I leave an area. I learned how vital it is to recognize the little miracles, find joy in being an instrument not the end result
SUNDAY: ROBINSON GOT BAPTIZED!!
Robinson is one of the soldiers in my class who's been wanting to get baptized since he first came to church! Every week he gets so stoked to get more materials to study it's so tender! He got a preach my gospel last week and had the fattest smile on his face when he showed everyone! His baptism was so amazing, the only downside is we all thought he was like 23/ 24 and his is actually 17... and on post we have to fill out their baptismal form after they get baptized. So we didn't see that he was 17 until it was too late, he didn't have his parents permission soo that was a big OOPS! But we're gonna see if we can get his parents permission next week to send off his form. So pray his parents have a softened heart plz!
Invitation: Write down all the miracles you see daily!
